Updating your bathroom

New paint and wainscoting affordably freshens up this bathroom.

Besides the kitchen the bathroom is one of the most heavily used spaces in your home. It can also be one of the most expensive to renovate. If you are not ready to commit to a full blown remodel of your bathroom, I have some ways to refresh the space for a smaller price tag.

Painting your bathroom and installing new flooring can really transform a space. Luxury vinyl flooring (LVF) can be installed over most floors and comes in a number of colors, styles and designs. Since it can be installed over old flooring you can save money by not demoing the old floor. When installing floors you will need to remove the toilet and maybe the vanity. This is a great time to replace these items for an added refresh. If you would rather keep your vanity, repainting it is another great way to give your bathroom new life.

Contractor Tip: to get the right measurements for a new toilet, measure from the wall to the middle of the bolts on the floor. Most bolts will be 12" or 16" away from the wall but you may find it 14" too.

Another refresh option is to add some dimension to the walls. Installing wainscoting can really change the feel of the bathroom and is cheaper than tile. Whether installing on walls or ceilings, it is a great way to bring style and design into the space. Additional affordable updates include replacing mirrors, lights, faucets, sinks and towel bars.

As always, I am here to help, no matter the size of the project. Contact us for your bathroom renovation and refresh needs.
